Hatch Street Studios is a vibrant community of creatives, nestled within the heart of New Bedford, Massachusetts. This pair of repurposed adjoining factory buildings is where artists, artisans, and designers converge under one roof, fostering a dynamic environment ripe with creativity and innovation. This bustling hub serves as a haven for individuals driven by a passion for artistic expression and craftsmanship.
Twice a year, the artists of New Bedford’s Hatch Street Studios throw open their doors to the public in an Open Studio celebration. The upcoming event will take place on Saturday, November 23, 11:00 am – 5:00 pm and Sunday, November 24, 11:00 am – 5:00 pm as well. Hatch Street Open Studio Weekend is a joyous community activity that’s entertaining and educational for adults and children of all ages. More than 65 creatives open their workspaces, studios, and gallery doors to the public. Resident artists and invited guests show and sell creations inspired by the vibrancy of the holiday season. Visitors are invited to tour the artists’ studios, watch demonstrations, participate in workshops, listen to live music, and purchase unique gifts and fine art. Artwork is fresh and wide-ranging including paintings, pottery, prints, photographs, textile art, sculpture, jewelry, fine furniture, crafts, and glass, as well as installation art.

South Coast Artists Annual Holiday Exhibit

South Coast Artists celebrates the holiday season with the 7th annual Holiday Arts Exhibit at the Dartmouth Cultural Center, located in the heart of historic Padanaram Village.
Opening reception is Friday, Dec. 6th, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., during the Padanaram Holiday Stroll festival. Refreshments will be served and many of the artists will be on hand. The show continues through Jan. 4, 2025, 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. every Thursday and Friday, and 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday.
This is a free event for the whole family and a wonderful way to support local artists and the DCC. Discover the work of SCA artists whose many small works of art are priced affordably. Mediums include oil and acrylic paintings, watercolors, collage, sculpture, jewelry, fiber arts, wax encaustics, photography, and pastel. Online shopping will be available 24/7, beginning on December 6, with pickup at DCC during gallery hours.
